Lehto/Werner achieve hat-trick ....First podium result for Lamborghini

Team ADT Champion Racing achieved a hat-trick in round four of the ALMS at Infineon Raceway near San Francisco (USA): JJ Lehto and Marco Werner, driving an Audi R8, scored their third consecutive ALMS victory, further extending their lead in the series. On Saturday, Werner had won pole in the first-ever single car qualifying of the ALMS. Werner battled with the fastest MG Lola in the opening stages of the race before opening a gap and handing over the R8 with a clear lead to JJ Lehto.

In its third race in the ALMS, Krohn-Barbour Racing Team scored the first ALMS podium result for the new Lamborghini Murcièlago R-GT. At Infineon Raceway, Tracy Krohn and Dave McEntee finished second in the GTS class despite serving a stop- and-go-penalty following contact with another car. The second Murcièlago, driven by David Brabham and Peter Kox, retired after 25 minutes due to a differential failure.
