JJ Lehto and Audi works driver Marco Werner have celebrated
their first joint victory at Mid-Ohio (USA), and in doing so assumed
the lead in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). Up to the half-
way point of the 2:45-hour race, the Team ADT Champion Racing
Audi R8 was battling fiercely with the MG Lola driven by Andy
Wallace and Chris Dyson. The Champion Audi took the lead after
the first fuel-stop. The battle was decided after 1:45 hours when
the MG Lola spun and lost a lap. It was the eighth victory in a row
for the Audi R8. The next race is scheduled as early as next
Monday (July 5) at Lime Rock.
